Remote legionella monitoring

Every outlet, every tank, monitored 24/7.

Konda Sence replaces clipboard temperature checks with wireless sensors that watch your water system around the clock. They alert you the moment temperatures drift into the legionella risk zone and fill in your L8 logbook automatically.

  1. 01

    Fit Konda Nodes

Clamp-on sensors go on your tanks, calorifiers and sentinel outlets, the same points you check by hand today.

  2. 02

    Hub collects readings

Every Node reports wirelessly to the Konda Hub, which sends the data securely to the cloud.

  3. 03

    Checked against L8

Each reading is checked against HSG274 temperature limits for that outlet type, around the clock.

  4. 04

    Alerts & logbook

You get an alert the moment something drifts, and your compliance logbook fills itself in.

Why legionella

Temperature is your first line of defence

Legionella bacteria multiply in water between 20°C and 45°C. Under the HSE's Approved Code of Practice L8, duty holders must control that risk and keep records that prove it.

Most sites still rely on monthly manual checks, which give a snapshot once a month and leave weeks of blind spots in between. Konda Sence monitors continuously, so problems are caught in minutes, not weeks.

  • Supports ACoP L8 and HSG274 Part 2 temperature monitoring
  • Time-stamped evidence for audits and insurers
  • Fewer site visits and less manual testing

HSG274 temperature targets

  • ColdBelow 20°C at outlets within 2 minutes
  • HotStored at 60°C or above in the calorifier
  • HotAt least 50°C at outlets within 1 minute (55°C in healthcare)
  • ReturnAt least 50°C on the calorifier return
Insights

See problems coming, not just arriving

A monthly check gives you 12 readings a year. Konda Nodes record thousands of readings a month at every point, so you can see the trend as well as each reading.

Trend analysis

Calorifier return, daily average

The return temperature is slowly falling. Konda projects the trend forward and warns you before it drops below 50°C, while there's still time to service the calorifier.

Anomaly alerts

Floor 3 hot outlet, last 3 days

Konda learns each outlet's normal pattern. When a reading falls outside that pattern, it sends an alert, even if the reading is still within the legal limits.

Little-used outlets

Only flush the outlets that need flushing

Under HSG274, outlets that aren't used regularly should be flushed at least weekly. On a large site that means someone walking every corridor and running every tap, which can add up to a full-time salary.

Konda Nodes detect each time water flows through an outlet. Each week you get a short list of the outlets that haven't been used, so you only flush those, and every flush is logged.

This week's flushing list 38 of 412 outlets The other 374 were used and don't need flushing.

What could your site save?

These are illustrative figures. They assume weekly flushing, 3 minutes per outlet including walking and recording, £15/hour staff cost, and 12 litres per flush. Your site will vary.
